Message from Terry Kilday, 2017 Chair of SIDE

The end of the season is fast approaching, and now is the time to register for SIDE 2017.  This year’s event is themed ‘Controlling the Controllable’.

The dairy industry will always go through highs and lows on a regular basis, due to prices, environmental issues, and the perceptions of the non-farming community.  It is important that we stay on track, no matter which level of the industry we work in.  We all want to work efficiently and be productive and profitable.  We can achieve this with the help of the people we surround ourselves with, the good practices we use, existing and new technology, and staying in control of these factors.

The 2017 SIDE Event team has been working diligently to put together a stimulating event that takes all of these issues into account.  We have a great range of workshops aimed at all levels, whether you are a newbie to farming or a seasoned campaigner.  We’ll cover hot topics relating to people, cows and grass, growth and progression, the environment, and much more.  We are also allowing more time for some equally important networking, with a planned ‘speed networking’ session that will offer the opportunity to meet new people.

And let’s not forget about the always popular Tuesday night dinner event, which gives a further chance to socialise in an informal setting.

So have a good browse through this brochure and get your registration under way.  If you can only attend one conference this year, make it SIDE 2017 in Lincoln.  Put 26 to 28 June in your diary, and we’ll see you there.
